I have tried three different distributions (Debian, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS & openSUSE Leap 15.2) and neither of them could connect to the internet by running either sudo apt upgrade or sudo zypper up (in case of opensuse). What resolved it was: Disabling the parental control filters on my broadband account. Manually configuring my DNS to use Google’s Cloudflare at 1.1.1.3 (you can probably also use 1.1.1.1)

WebFeb 13, 2024 · Sorted by: 1. WSL2 doesn't support routing IPv6, and for some reason apt is trying to connect to repo.mongodb.org using IPv6. Try: sudo apt update -o Acquire::ForceIPv4=true.
